Hiya! My name is Will Hardy and I have just completed my undergraduate degree in Creative Writing at ARU, earning a First-Class Honours. I’ve always had a love and appreciation for the written word, along with storytelling across multiple formats — screenwriting being my absolute favourite, especially when it comes to crafting new characters. I’m fascinated by the way stories can bring people together, challenge perspectives and make us feel something, whether that’s through film, television, literature, or the conversations we have about them. Films like Heat have always fascinated me, especially in the way they place complex characters in high-pressure situations and explore their motivations, relationships, choices and consequences. I also really love stories where characters are flawed, complicated, and capable of surprising you. Shows like The Walking Dead are a great example of this, particularly in the way its characters are shaped by the worlds they’re forced to survive in. I’m always keen to explore what makes a story work, why certain characters stay with us, and how storytelling continues to shape the way we see the world. Whether it’s discussing a film, exploring a character, talking about the creative process, or simply sharing whatever has caught my attention, I’m always interested in the stories behind the stories.
