About the Role

The Event Project Manager will develop and execute event plans for Along the Coast 2024. This includes project plans that outline event execution, resource management, delivery timeline and the final programme for the event day.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Budget Management:
● Align and manage event expenditure with the event budget.
● Develop project budgets for approval by financial controllers (Event Leads).
● Managing invoices from artists and suppliers.
● Propose financial budgets for approval.

Project Planning, Preparation and Management:
● Lead discussion with Event Leads to understand event scope and objectives and outcomes.
● Lead communication with Portsmouth City Council on logistics and technical preparation for Along the Coast 2024.
● Recommend measures to improve event management and outcomes.
● Develop event communication plans that are effective in delivering event key messages.
● Develop project plans to execute planned activity and to track all project activity.
● Managing communication with all creative departments, Artists, Traders and Suppliers for Along the Coast 2024.
● Managing the contracting of Artists and Traders and ensuring Traders have provided insurance before the event day.
● Manage any escalated issues as well as deviations to the project plans.
● Resolve all project issues and deviations to ensure that projects are executed as planned.
● Review project deliverables to ensure that project plans are followed.
● Project evaluation and feedback for Event Leads and other Stakeholders (PCC)

Team Management
● Directly report to the Event Leads throughout the project. This will include regular rolling check-ins via email and online Meetings.
● Managing the events team including - Production Admin Coordinator and Production Assistant.
● Timeline management and Budget Management.

Engagement Fee:
Fee: Total of £3350 for entire engagement. (To be paid in 3 instalments) 15 days total - Hybrid / Flexible Working
Ideal Start Date: W/C 25/03/2024
Marketing Development Days: 30/03/2024 & 31/03/2024 (To be discussed at interview stage).
Date of Festival: 15/06/2024
Engagement End Date: 30/06/2024


  • Proven experience as Event Manager and management of a team.

  • Skilled in project management.

  • Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office and Project Management software.

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability.

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • A knack for problem-solving.

  • Proactive team player and inspiring leadership skills.

  • Clear management vision and structured approach.

About the Company

Along The Coast (ATC) is a free, non-ticketed outdoor music festival supported by Portsmouth City Council's annual Bandstand season. The Bandstand Season is a cultural landmark within the local community and we will be programming and curating music from local Global Majority (GM) artists as well as hosting local GM-owned traders. The event is a celebration of the region's growing multiculturalism and invites all audiences to be involved.
