The Nursing & Midwifery Council are the professional regulator for nurses and midwives in the UK, and nursing associates in England. The Nursing & Midwifery Council envisions safe, effective and kind nursing and midwifery that improves everyone’s health and wellbeing. At its core the Nursing & Midwifery Council regulates:

1) Through promoting high education and professional standards for nurses and midwives across the UK, and nursing associates in England
2) Maintaining the register of professionals eligible to practise
3) Investigating the concerns about nurses, midwives and nursing associates

This allows the Nursing & Midwifery Council to support professions and the public through guidance and resources, and ensures that the Nursing & Midwifery Council to influence health and social care
