Who Inspires Me? With Jeffrey Oyinlola (Black History Month 2021)

This was really hard for me because there are so many individuals that inspire me and do such amazing work. But through shear determination and perseverance, I have been able to pick my top five. They are; 1) My family. Honestly every time I think of a time when life's been tough, or I've felt unmotivated, my family were always there to encourage, uplift and remind me that I can always keep going. They keep me humble and are living proof of my favourite quote "Sic Parvis Magna" ‑ Greatness From Small Beginnings (Sir Francis Drake). They remind me that no dream is too big, nothing is impossible and I can go as far as I want 2) Next off would have to be the wonderful Chloe X Halle. Their creative process is so inspiring, their music is amazing and the fact that they do all the producing, song writing (and more) makes me feel like I can do anything I put my mind to. Chloe's been posting videos showing her product process and talking about it on her lives. When I hear the passion in her voice for her craft, it just inspires me to work on my creative projects. 3) My friends. There's a quote from the Bible (Proverbs 18:24) that says "a real friend sticks closer than a brother". This has been true to me and I'm so grateful for the inspiration, encouragement and love that these people give me. 4) For this one, I've picked LeBron James and Serena Williams, but honestly there are some many athletes and sport stars that I could've picked. They show not only that you can inspire a generation on and off the court, but also show us how! 5) Last (but definitely not least), the amazing people I've met through both Pick Up The Mic and New Generation. These individuals are talented, inspirational and have such amazing stories. Learning more about what they've been through, what they've overcome and how they encourage themselves encourages me when life gets tough. Let us know who inspires you.
