Learn more about Tumi Ogundamisi

Hi everyone, I’m Tumi: a London-based creative, writer, and community builder, with roots and rhythms shaped by the diaspora. My work often lives at the intersection of storytelling, mental health, and reimagining education, with a focus on how power, memory, and identity shape who we are.

I’m an Oxford and Harvard grad who can talk for hours about language, belonging, and how our personal stories can spark social change. I founded Sounds of the Diaspora, alongside my coconspirator Zina, curating events, media and community gatherings that blend music, movement, and collective reflection across borders.

Today, I’m here to unpack some of that journey, the wins, the challenges, and the questions that keep me curious, and hopefully leave you with ideas about how we can all connect more deeply to our roots while imagining new futures together.
