Hi! My name is Enna Uwaifo, I am currently self-employed as a consultant, researcher, speaker and writer. I also founded the Intersectional Environmentalist Collective UK (The IE Collective UK) in 2024, after completing my MSc Global Development and Environmentalist at the University of Bristol. For my master's dissertation, I travelled to Accra, Ghana to explore the business of one of the world’s biggest open-air second-hand fashion markets, Kantamanto market, to better understand the textile waste issue being increasingly reported in the global south. I educate and mentor young people in South East London on the sustainability issues in fast-fashion through the case study of Kantamanto market to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to exploring environmental issues through social entrepreneurship, environmentalism and global development.

The mission of the IE Collective is to end cycles of disempowerment through culturally-informed environmental education and action.

We believe that multi-cultural communities are hubs of innovation and problem-solving. However, with the prevalence of disempowering narratives targeting our communities, the narratives of the strengths, capabilities and progress of our communities can get lost. Our mission is to drive strategic, large-scale investment in communities most affected by the 21st century polycrisis but require the necessary investment for bottom-up action.

We want to partner with organisations for high-impact environmental action and advance the inclusion of under-engaged communities in co-creating solutions for 21st-century challenges.
